Sean Intiomale
Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Sean Intiomale became Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intiomale Group in February 2023. This follows his appointment as CEO of the group in October 2014 after a career spanning nearly two decades in international trade and development, focusing on strategic management, commodities, and mergers and acquisitions.
Congolese born, South African bred, Sean Intiomale joined the Intiomale Group in December 2007 as head of public relations, marketing, business development, and client relationships management.
Prior to managing Intiomale Group, Sean Intiomale spent six years in a UK Department for International Development-funded company advising policymakers in the research and development space. He also launched a startup promoting collaboration between academic, government and the industry.
Sean Intiomale seats on the management board of startups, mining and investment companies including the Motjuan Group, Intio Emerging Ventures, Phoenix Americapital Fund, Collaborative Resources Technologies, Africa Science Gateway and Corridor Media and Entertainment, and for the past decade he has had his own consultancy practice, providing strategic advisory and commodity consulting to commercial and government companies.
Sean holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Global Business Management from the Edinburgh Napier University, United Kingdom, and a diploma in Paralegal Studies from the South African Law School, South Africa.
Patrice Intiomale
Founder, President and Chairman
Patrice Intiomale founded the Intiomale Group in 1985 and joined the Metals and Mining Operations division in 2014. He has had a highly successful career spanning over 54 years working for major international mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), like Newmont, BHP, Anglo-American, First Quantum Minerals, Vale, Freeport-McMoRan, Gold Fields, Rio Tinto, and most recently Ivanhoe Mines’ Kamoa Copper SA. Throughout his career, Patrice Intiomale has been a renowned mining advisor to private and public companies.
Prior to dedicating himself to the Intiomale Group, Patrice Intiomale was the Technical Director of the DRC’s Mining Registry (CAMI) for two years. He was the Senior Mining and Geology Advisor for the Ministry of Reconstruction, the Ministry of Strategic Areas of Development, and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and advisor to the third President of the DRC. Patrice Intiomale spent 28 years as Director of Geology at the state mining company, Gecamines SA. With his wealth of experience in academic, government and industry, Patrice Intiomale is one of the most knowledgeable experts on the DRC’s metals and mining sector.
Patrice Intiomale has a Ph.D. In Geology from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. Currently, a Professor of geology at the University of Kinshasa, DRC, Patrice holds a fertilizer patent and was a former Associate Professor of the University of Lubumbashi, DRC.
