Iron and Ferroalloys

Iron ore is the key ingredient in steel production, essential for many industries worldwide. Intiomale Group is proud to offer high-quality hematite ore, the mineral form of iron (III) oxide (Fe2O3), one of the most important iron ores in the world. Our hematite ore is mined from our sources in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Iran, known for their rich ferroalloys mineral deposits.

Our iron ore mining operations in the DRC centred around the Kabongo, and Kamatanda deposits contain high-grade hematite and magnetite ore. We use the latest mining techniques and technologies to extract iron ore and ensure our operations are environmentally sustainable.

Our hematite ore is coloured black to steel or silver-grey, brown to reddish-brown, or red and is used as the primary ore of iron. Although magnetite contains a higher percentage of iron and is easier to process, hematite is the leading ore because it is more abundant and present in deposits in many parts of the world.

Our processing plants use advanced beneficiation technologies to separate high-grade iron ore from impurities, resulting in a premium product with high iron content. This iron ore is sold to steel producers worldwide, ensuring our customers can access high-quality raw materials for their manufacturing needs.

In addition to being an essential source of iron, our hematite ore is also a high-density weighting material used as a weighting agent in drilling fluids. The mica-like crystal structure of our hematite ore is ground to a particle size suitable for use in drilling fluids. With a specific gravity of >5.05, which is 19% greater than the density of Barite (4.1), our hematite ore can obtain mud weights over 20.0 ppg in water-based drilling fluids, 19.0 ppg in oil-based drilling fluids or any time that exceptional control is required of solids percentage for rheology control.

Using our hematite ore as a weighting agent, drilling fluids can contain fewer solids by volume, resulting in improved rheological properties, penetration rate, and decreased overall mud costs. Intiomale Group is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality hematite ore from our sources in the DRC and Iran.
